If you are new to historical sewing and would like to create a Regency Gown from my pattern, this is the class for you! Each lesson includes in-depth, detailed instructions that will take you from purchasing fabric to trimming a finished gown. Lectures discuss fabric types, colors common to the Regency Era, undergarments, and more. You will learn how to create a train or overskirt if you so desire. This class is considered intermediate, since you do need basic sewing skills to undertake the gown. Your Instructor
I began Sense and Sensibility Clothing as a newlywed back in 1996, creating unique garments and never dreaming I’d one day sell my patterns to women all over the world. After customers kept asking me to sell copies of the patterns I created to make their outfits, I finally took the plunge in 1998, publishing my original Regency Gown Pattern. The immediate success of that pattern convinced me that there was a market for wearable, historical patterns that evoke the grace and charm of times past, and that's when Sense & Sensibility Patterns was born. I developed subsequent patterns slowly over the years, and today I have more than 25 patterns available. By far, the most fulfilling part of this business has been seeing what my customers create. I feel like I have kindred spirits all over the world and am constantly amazed by their talent and eye for beauty. I love helping beginners jump in and get their feet wet, so don't be shy if you're new to historical sewing!
